Have you ever dreamed of sewing your own clothes, drafting custom patterns, or designing fashion that’s truly your own? Beginning this September, with additional sessions to follow, Master Bespoke Tailor and Designer Eric W. Stiles Sr. is bringing his acclaimed classes to Joliet Junior College.

No experience is required, just bring a working sewing machine with foot pedal and your enthusiasm to learn. These 2½-hour, hands-on, no-pressure classes are open to all skill levels, from non-sewers to advanced students, and are designed to help you build confidence, technique, and creativity. Arrive on time, bring your curiosity, and get ready to learn!

Morning Classes at The Renaissance Center at 214 N. Ottawa Street, owned by Joliet Junior College and located just minutes from downtown Joliet, will begin hosting morning fashion classes with Master Tailor and educator Eric W. Stiles Sr. starting October 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Evening Classes will be held at the main JJC campus, Building U – Room 2009, starting September 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. Stiles, who rents classroom space both at the college and the Renaissance Center, said he is excited to expand the program and looks forward to partnering with JJC for years to come.

The upcoming 3-week course, beginning September 29, 2025, open to ages 14 and up and combines both Sewing/Tailoring and Pattern Making, offering deeper instruction in professional garment construction while guiding you to advance step by step. Some supplies are needed, but the expense is minimal.

Some students even choose to accelerate their progress by attending classes twice a day, allowing them to accomplish more in a shorter time.
